Thought I had better check in
I am still here. I haven't fallen of the face of the earth. I have been stitching and sewing. Since my last post I have been to Embroidery Seminars in Sackville, NB, Victoria, BC and Winnipeg, MB. Had a great time. Took a class from Thea Dueck in Victoria. My land she is such a nice person and a great teacher. I plan on going to Ottawa, ON next year. Hopefully my hubby will be able to go to.

Hello, I am still here
It sure has been awhile since I last posted. I kept telling myself that I needed to post something but just put it off so today I decided to dive right in. Christmas was a bit different for me this year since my Mom and Dad passed away. I had my two brothers and their families over on New Years Day. Got to see my first great neice. She is 3 months old and just as bright as a button. Takes everything in. It was funny to see my brother fuss over her.
I have been stitching. I finished two pieces and I am trying to finish The Quiltmaker. I don't want to start another project until I finish this one.
I have also been doing a little bit of knitting. I am in the process of making an afghan. It is a pattern that I got from my sister in law. It is made from Homespun yarn on size 10mm needles. It is just straight knitting. I have two balls knit up and starting on my third. She uses 4 balls in hers. I also have been knitting the frilly scarfs. They are sure neet to knit. I have made 4 so far and am on my fifth.
Better go for now and stitch some more.

I am still here
I bet you thought that I fell off the face of the earth. Well, I am still here. What a year this has been. After my Dad came home from the hospital my Mom started going down hill. She was in and out of the hospital off and on for a month or more. She ended up staying the last time the Wednesday after Easter due to a fall in which she cut her arm so had to have stitches and she also has a real bad bladder infection. She never came home. She passed away on May 27th, 2011 the day that my Dad went to live with my brother and his wife. He had stage 4 liver cancer and couldn't stay alone any more. My Dad passed away the following week on June 4th, 2011. We had two funerals within two weeks. We then had the task of cleaning out the house which we finally got done and is up for sale. Hopefully we will sell it soon. I have been doing some stitching. I finished Winter White Santa and am working on Miriabilia's Rose of Sharon. I am doing quite well on her. Other than that not doing too much. Will have to get into sewing for the craft shows.

Another week
Another week done and one starting. Can't believe it is April already. I have been stitching on Winter White Santa quite steady. I hope to have the stitching done in a couple of days and then I can start the beading. Can hardly wait. Will probably run out of the Whisper floss but I have some coming up from my LNS in Moncton. I have been doing some sewing this week also. I have been making Mug Totes and sewing up some more Q-Snap covers to take with me to Retreat. Better go for now. Have to finish making supper. Just have to cook the rice since the ribs are in the slow cooker and do they smell good.

Boy, can't believe that it has been a month already since I last posted. It has been a busy, stressful new year for me. My Dad had his surgery. Is doing really well from that but now is dealing with liver cancer, stage 4. My Mom isn't well either. I been in the hospital a couple of times with congestive heart failure. It runs in the family. She is waiting to see her heart doctor. I guess the only thing that is keeping me sane is my stitching and my family. Looking forward to getting away for a weekend to Retreat in April and then for a week in May for Seminar. Hope all stays well until after then. Still stitching on Winter White Santa. I am getting close to being done him. I think he is going to be really pretty. Until next time. Yvonne

Sunday Again
Can't believe it is almost the end of February. Where has the year gone so far? I finished stitching Dani, the Stitching Dragon by Dragon Dreams. Haven't gone a pic yet but when I do I will post it.
Been quiet here this week. Just doing the usual housework and of course stitching.
Fell last Friday night the 18th on the ice and came down on my tail bone. It still hurts.
Have some sewing to do so will sign off for now.

Sorry it has been so long

It has been awhile since I posted to my blog so thought that I would do that today.
It has been a bit unsettled for myself and my family since the 11th of Janurary. My Dad had to have surgery and he was in the hospital for about 2 weeks. During that time I was staying with my Mom and driving her back and forth to the hospital. Dad is home now and doing really well.
I have been stitching. I finished Sue Hillis' A Sweet Stitch. Haven't got the pieces put together but at least it is stitched. I finished A Quaker Welcome. I did it on mushroom 28st lugana with Gentle Art thread in Currant. Love the way it turned out.

A New Year

2011 already. 2010 went really fast. I have been stitching. I finished Paula Vaughn's Flowers for Mama. I am stitching on Winter White Santa and just started A Sweet Stitch by Sue Hillis. I have the tin for it so thought that I would start it.
Sunny, cold and windy here today. Supposed to be nice until the weekend then some snow on Saturday.
Here is a picture of my latest finish.

It is Tuesday night December 20th. This has been a busy week. It all started last Tuesday morning with out basement being flooded. We finally got the water out and dried out.
Wednesday I spent the day at the hospital with my Mom and Dad while he was having two units of blood. My Mom doesn't see very well so I went with them to help out.
The rest of the week I was busy baking for Christmas. Made my lemon breads today. Tomorrow will be Shortbread cookie day.
I have been stitching. I am on the last 1/4 of Flowers for Momma and am also stitching on Winter White Santa. I stitch on Butterfly Fairy for my daughter when she isn't home.
Here is a picture of Sabrina that I finished and of Quaker Diamonds. Also pictured is My Day Complete.

A weekly update
Here it is another week gone again. Haven't been doing very much this week since I got out of the hospital on July 12th. Went in to the ER on Thursday, July 8th with real bad stomach pain and throwing up. The doctor at first thought it was gasritis but the second doctor I saw on my second trip to the ER found a hernia. The surgeon was called in. He ordered a cat scan and decided from that that I needed surgery. Had it done about 11:00pm Thursday night. Not a lot of pain but more pulling on the incision. I now have another 4 inch scar. It is still healing but I am doing fine. Can't lift anything over 10lbs. so have to get my family to carry my laundry up and down stairs.
With not being able to do much I have been stitching. I am stitching on Sabrina. Want to have her finished to enter in our Exhibition the first of September. Have her almost half done. Will keep you up on the progress.
Better go for now and get some more stitching done.

Here it is July

Where has June gone. Can't believe that is already a month and a couple of days since my birthday. No wonder a person feels old. Here are some pictures of my latest finishes. The first one is the front and back of a biscornu called When Barnabee Met Bella by Lizzie Kate and the second one is called Quaker and Quilts by Rosewood Manor. I am working on Sabrina now. Hope to have a picture of what I have done soon.

I'm back

Have been a little slow posting to my blog. I have two finishes added to my finish list. One by Paula Vaughn called Lovely Lillies and one by Sue Hillis called Needleworker's Sampler. Enjoyed stitching both of these. Here are the pictures of the end results. I almost forgot about the Graduate one by Heinzeit that I did for my son. He just graduated from high school in 2008. I am a little behind on that one.
